I believe this was the original "Let's Play" boat (not the one that won the world's in 2003). It was then sold to the guys from the "Foxwoods" team if my memory serves me correctly. If they still own the boat, they are some of the best people I have ever met in my life!

It seems like a helluva deal at that price! I wouldn't let my F-2 boat go for that.

Do 525EFIs live with 87 octane? I wasn't sure what the minimum octane rating was. I know all the black Merc motors are okay on 87. 500EFIs and 525EFIs also???

Not only will they live on 87 octane, but they will actually make more power.than they will on higher octane. High octane prevents pre-ignition in high compression engines (the heat generated by the compression causes the fuel to ignite prior to the spark plug actually firing). Lower octane = leaner combustion = more power!

I can tell you that on our F-2 boat just going to 87 octane from 93 was good for approximately 100 rpm! Not too many things that you can do that actually cost you LESS to make MORE power!
