302 triple O/Bs, anyone know the boat?
Ther is an 1982 Formula 302 w triple 260 OBs for sale in the great lakes area. Does anyone know the boat?
How fast is it? Is it an old race boat? (No windows, non stock windshield) Is it lightened at all or stock hull and interior? Given the posibility that this is a heavy boat, I wary that the obs still aren't enough. I have an email into the broker but not heard back yet. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Evan |

Re: 302 triple O/Bs, anyone know the boat?
From what I have been told about this boat. It was set up to race. The deck the owner told me was very flimsy (however so is the one that is on my IO 302. I believe it used to be out on Long Island if memory serves. I recall that it used to have triple 2.5 EFI's on it. Stock 302 with twin 330 hp IO's weighed 7000-7500 pounds. That is quite light for a boat that size. I would think that you can take off almost 500-750 pounds for the outboard set up then take off weight for any interior mods that were made. That boat should haul. Plus with the outboards you should be able to keep it WOT all day long. I can not remember if it had stand off boxes or not. I always kind of thought I should have purchased that boat. I am more of a outboard guy.....

It turns out, as I suspected, that it was a ghost add that sold over 2 years ago.
The boat went to the Bahamas. I still get calls on my old Donzi that sold 6 months ago, but it never shows up on my searches |
