05 382 radio/cd changer...I pod
Does anyone know about the "stock" stereos. I want to install a dock for a I Pod. Will the current stereo do that? The boat is still in Texas so I can't jump in to check this out Thanks

It depends on the model, if the unit has an aux. input you can install anything with a standard stereo low level output. If you dont have a CD changer you can get an adapter to convert the changer input to stereo RCA aux. otherwise you will need an FM Modulator or a new deck. :drink:

I just researched this a few weeks back. Here is the easiest way to get the info you need. Go to www.crutchfields.com. Enter the model number of your current stereo in the search field. It should find it if it is an '05 I would think. Then, somewhere on the page there will be a link to show you all the accessories for the radio. I have brand new Kenwood deck (don't know the model off the top of my head). There is an interface for it. Make sure to read the reviews of anything they offer. There were some uncomplementary comments on some of the iPod interfaces for the Kenwoods. The plus was that they allowed some control of the iPod from the Kenwood remote. You can also order an XM or Sirius satelite radio control as well as some other cool stuff. :) I hadn't bought anything from Crutchfield for probably 10 years or more. I just bought a CD cartridge for the deck in the boat. I'm impressed with their website. They do a good job getting the info cross linked for related products. Garrett |
