Windshield Moulding
Hey guys, does anyone know where to get the moulding that covers the windshield mounting screws on a 88 242? mine was starting to pop out of the channel that it sits in, and a nasty encounter with the buffing wheel  ,has left it in unsightly condition. Is it a standard auto moulding that's available locally? Thanks in advanced :drink: .

You hit the nail on the head. But part of the problem is the bimini mounts been moved a few times andhas a bunch of extra holes :(. The front pieces are fine. |
Re: Windshield Moulding
Hey guys, thanks for the info. This is what i have come up with to this point. Called Water bonnet, they said get a hold of Ryan and ask him for the part #'s. Got the part #'s and called Water Bonnet back. The molding is obsolete. Bruce at Water bonnet suggested that i send them a sample of the original to hopefully match. Sorry it took so long to reply, but have been busy with other priority stuff on the boat. I will let you know how i make out after they get the sample :drink:

Re: Windshield Moulding
hey guys, finally got around to putting the new moulding(screw cover) on the windshield. i had to buy a min. amount from water bonnet. so i have enough for three more windshields. i will give it away, just pay for shipping. it has to be shipped in a cardboard tube. as usual, the shipping cost me more than the part itself  . . pm me with the address and phone.

Re: Windshield Moulding
I lost 2 from mine about a year ago, so I made them out of black silicone. You put masking tape on both sides of the opening(all around). then fill it with sillicone, and then wipe off the excess and make it flat with somthing flat like a bondo squeege. It helps if you wet the squeege with water or light oil before wiping. Then peel off the tape right away before it dries. Make sure the sillicone is not to thick where it meets the tape. Cheap, easy, waterproof, looks pretty clean too. Just an idea for the rest of ya. Good luck
