Centerline measurement propshaft to propshaft needed...

When Gusman yanked my outdrive out for new propshaft, we forgot to measure the centerline measurement between the drives.

Can some of you guys with a 311 SR1 please take a measurement for me? I know it needs to "toe in" a bit I just don't know how much....Thanks...

Oh no,,,,,,,,,,, not this "toe-in/toe-out" stuff again!!!!

Didn't we beat this to death a few years back with the ultimate answer being............. there is no in or out. It should just be freakin' straight. At least that's what I remember.

I'll look for the threads on that issue and post 'em if I find 'em.

Over in the Technical Forum, there are almost endless threads pertaining to toe in/out and drive alignment. Now that I've re-read a bunch of them, I don't know if we did reach any concensus. :(

Why do you need any measurement, just bolt everything back on the way it came off, nothing will change.Maybe I don't understand the question, but it you don't adjust anything coming off, it's the same when you reassemble. Am I missing something?

Robert, part of the tie bar was bent slightly so we pulled that part out to replace it and didn't think to measure the distance from the end of the main part of the tie bar to where this replaced part screws into the main part of the tie bar to where it bolts down to the top of the saddle.... Stupidity on my part....

If there is no consensus then I'm just going to toe it "in" a whisker....
