pics of my new 292!
 

Some of you may remember a thread I started last November showing pictures of my 292 being built at the Formula factory. I bought the boat new from Nelems Marine (Magicfloat :drink: ). We are finally able to enjoy her. Here are some pics from last weekend on the Mississippi River. We spent the night on Iowa Island beach on the Alton pool.

All I can say is "life is good!" :D . We are soooo pleased with the 292 - performance, comfort, economy (really!), ride, and this boat turns a lot of heads on these waters. Have 14 hours on the engines and so far have recorded 71.5 mph GPS. We are looking forward to several trips up the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers and I am taking it up to Lake Erie for a two week vacation for some island hopping early August.

Anyway.... thought I would share some pics with some fellow Formula owners. :drink:

Nice boat ! I remember seeing the pics of it being built at the factory.... I posted a pic of mine as it came out of the paint shop...gotta get some wet shots on here now...ENJOY and GOOD LUCK :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink:

ThirdBird - yea, I was a little hesitant on the "yellow" top... When my wife heard Formula offered this color (new for 2006) to go with the Barbados theme, she had to have it. Actually, I think it really does look unique and matches the yellow Imron accent colors nicely...

Prater - yes, it closes completely. I leave the back flapped open to get in and out. For bedtime we pull the stern in, board the boat, and button it up from the inside. The front and side curtains are clear (no screens) and the aft curtain has a large screen you can zip open.

I added a couple more pics. Notice the dew already forming on the deck at sundown. A cool front came through that night and the temperature fell into the mid-50's. Good thing we had plenty of firewood, and BEER! :p Wasn't bad until you strayed from the fire for a pee break... Once we got in the boat (2 adults and 2 little kids) we closed up the screen and the hatches. Stayed comfortable all night. Actually got a little toasty by early morning just from our body heat so I opened up the screen.

Very Nice. You'll enjoy Lake Erie as there is endless water and a lot of attractions. :drink:

So true kjm! I have boated on Lake Erie since I was a kid. First on an old wood Lyman, then my Dad bought a new Formula 20 CL in 1978 (he still has it). My parents had a summer home in Lakeside and they now spend the summer vacationing on their 32 Nordic Tug. Below are some pics we took last summer. Put in Bay, Kelly's Island, Cedar Point.... A lot of fun spots and one of the most beautiful places to boat in the country IMHO...
