Steam blowing out
Yesterday I took my 242ls out and after running it for a little while I noticed a little steam coming out of the exhaust after I docked. Anyone know what would cause this?

Re: Steam blowing out
With or without Silent Thunder??
Either way, the water sitting in the pipes or Silent Thunder chambers is real hot. Some steam will be seen as it mixes with water till it cools down. If it's a whole lot of steam, like big clouds of it, then something is definitely wrong. |
Re: Steam blowing out
It can happen more or less depending on the humidity also.

Re: Steam blowing out
I honestly do not know if it has the silent thunder. I am a new formula owner. It has the exhaust going through the swim platform.
Thanks for your help guys. |
Re: Steam blowing out
Exhaust outlets are square???
If so then you have the Silent Thunder. You may also see a little black tag near one of the outlets that says "Silent Thunder Patent Applied For" or something to that effect. |
Re: Steam blowing out
Yes they are square. Looks like I do have the silent thunder. Thanks Iggy

Re: Steam blowing out
Should be ok if gauges read normal.

Re: Steam blowing out
Hey 86formula242ls, I noticed the same thing while I was watching the marina boys flush out my engines. Didn't seem to much to worry about, the boat ran awesome that day and the gauges read perfect!
