Did formula change X dimensions between 98 and 06?

Hi Y'all

I was just wondering if formula changed the X dimension on the 382 fastech between 1998 and 2006. I am looking to find some extra speed out of my 1998 382 with 502 mags and stainless marine exhaust and thought that this would be a good place to start. Right now I am running 26 p stock bravo's and will be trying the 5 blade maxmus some time soon. The boat does not not need any tab input to come on plane. Has anyone experimented with 2" shorties on a 382?
Any help would be great!

Thanks
Don

2'' Shorties work nicely but you will need some tabs down to get on plane, otherwise lots of slip. Not a big deal. But consider this before you spend lots of money. A 382 with 502's will never be a rocketship, regardless of what you do it will always be a nice, comfortable wave crusher, nothing more, nothing less. The Maximas might be the best bang for the buck. Thanks Robert-

I realize that this combination will not be very fast I am just looking for some info. I should have also said that In the near future I will be upgrading the engines hopefully get around 500hp out of these 502's. What is the normal top spped of a 382 with 500's? I would guess that it would be around 72mph? What kind of gains would I get from shorties? maybe 2-3mph? Right now I am right around 67mph and would love to see 72-75mph.

Thanks
Don
