Keeping "stuff" in a FASTech V-berth....
We have a 292 and do a lot of camping. Always have a lot of stuff (comforter, blankets, pillows, chairs, etc.etc...) piled on the V-berth. Inevitably this stuff ends up falling back off the V-berth during some hard running in rough water. I am thinking of making some sort of a net or gate to prevent this and have a couple of ideas in mind. Although, I am SURE I'm not the only one that runs into this problem and want to see if any of you guys have come up with some nifty designs. If so, please share!
Thanks. |
Re: Keeping "stuff" in a FASTech V-berth....
I tried a net in my 312 but it just stretched out. Best I've found is 2 telescoping boat-hook poles extended tight across the inside of the bulkhead. One at 2-3 inches off the bed and the other 5-6 inches above that. When I don't need them they can be stored along the back edges of the bench seats.

Solving that very same problem on my 271 has been on my to-do list for two years now. I'll let you know if I come up with anything.

Extended boat-hooks is a good idea... and they serve another purpose! :chimp: Keep the ideas coming. :drink: |
Re: Keeping "stuff" in a FASTech V-berth....
Rear cargo net from any SUV type vehicle!!!!!! Worked great in my Velocity, lots of variations, easy to rig up, simple as all he!!. Check it out. Streach it across the bulkhead at the V berth, rigged up with a few simple hooks, and Presto, no more flyin shi+ all over the cabin. They work for the weeks groceries, why not the pillows and shi+.

I used the same principal as Ragged Edge, except I stole the cargo net out of my ex'es c5 vette, put small retainers in each corner of th inside of the bulkhead and then attached the net after loading.
