311 sold on EBAY

1 Attachment(s)
The selling price on this boat seem below market price. The boat has 7.4s (rather than 454 mags or 502s). The prices on these boats are all over the map. I see a number of 311s in the high 40s...

Year: 1988
Make: FORMULA
Model: F-311 SR-1
Winning bid: US $20,200.00

If that boats in good shape, somebody got a hell of a deal....:drink:

I know I won't let mine go for that....

That is a heck of a deal! I saw that boat, but I just couldn't get excited about the regular 7.4's. You really can't do much with 'em, except take them out and get 502's!

Of course it is hard to tell condition by digital pictures and the broker's description...but if it was nearby I would have taken a look...though it seems like the boat would be sluggish with 7.4s....

I almost bought that boat when I was looking a couple years ago. It didn't pass the survey.

No probably not...but the sellers don't want to come off the price because that's what they owe. ;) I do know that they sell quick when they are less than $30K. My point was really that prices on these boats are all over the map. When they get this old its all about condition, condition, condition.

I'm sure your buddy's boat is nice and EBAY will generate some leads. EBAY is cheap advertising. I had my Porsche for sale for months on end. Put it on EBAY and it sold quick...go figure.

I hope it does well,we have not had much action yet,I am sure gas prices do not help,I thoink most people look at price first not what they are getting for that kind of money,I know budget plays a big role.
I wanted to buy his 311,(he now has a 98 353) but the wife wants a baby first, then bigger boat,My whole point is that I cannot believe the little action for a boat that has so many upgrades, this is a boater who logs EVERYTHING,he can even tell you what the bearing clearances are in the engines,it is all logged.
Someone will end up with a nice 311!! Wish it was me!

It had an area of delamination on the bottom, starboard side about two feet from the transom, moisture in the transom, a crack running along one of the stringers, ... AND ... when the surveyor was there a valve stuck in one of the engines.:eek::eek:

You back in the water yet? I haven't seen any posts about the "project" lately.

But in the ad the seller claims "This boat has never sustained any prior damage and has no present damage."

Yikes!

I don't understand why there is so much BS when it comes to selling things. Sooner or later, you'll wind up with egg on your face! :( , so tell it straight!

The same crap happened on my 382 deal. Less than 50 hours with receipts on a pair of HP500's...yeah right! The only receipts I got out of the seller was all the receipts for all the other repairs done to the boat including new lifters and valve adjustments!
