357 SR1 Top Speed

Just curious what other 357 owners are running WOT.

I ran 66 on GPS with a trim tab dragging the water. That was at 4900RPM.

Supercharged 454's. Full Throttle said they were SC525 Clones.

Those RPM's are way low. You shure you are trimming it up enough? What is up with the dragging tab?

Mine only does 60 on GPS @ 5000rpms, I have fresh 420's...How did you fit the 525sc's in there? I did all the math and came up short 3.5 inches. The engines are to high and hatch is to low. The TRS drives makes for a high engine mount, my gil exhaust is within 1/2" from touching the hatch.

Re: 357 SR1 Top Speed

It is TRS, the hatch is raised but still makes a small amount of contact on the arrestors. The trim tab would not respond. I was a bonehead and forgot to check the fluid level in the pumps. They are all full and the tab now works correctly. I had problems triming the outdrives. The tab markers all need to be adjusted. Plus the starboard drive moves slower than port drive really making it fun to adjust.

I am really considering changing the hatch and adding a couple of scoops. The Gaffrig flame arrestors are small and thin and I want to get more air in the motors. I am considering some large K&N Marine Filters on top of a stack in the scoops.
