Formula's in the BVI
 

:cool: Have been vacationing in the BVI (Tortola) and doing some sailing with friends (yes on a blow-boat) and hit Virgin Gorda, Anegada along with Yost. While anchored at Yost, saw a 302, early 90's it seemed, pull up and dock for lunch.

Great to be down here, but really can't wait to get home to the Chesapeake and do some running this weekend.

Hey Chuck, how did the survey go on that 292 you were looking at?

Anyway, just some info, Formula's are all over.

On St.John last year on the east end saw a nice Formula looked just like Mopower`s boat 292 or a 302. Dam I love that water cann`t wait till Dec. :drink:

I passed on that one, it's been sitting unused for awhile, owner lost interest, prospects for deferred maintenance worried me. Maybe more boats will turn up for sale after the 4th of July.

Looks very close, you would be right 311 :D The way to cruise around down there would be a 400ss :drink:

we have stayed out a cpl of nites ..learned quick July is not the time ..we have almost 9 months a year when its real nice staying overnite ...just have to pick you days.. (nites) m

Just got back from the bvi s also ,charterd a lagoon 44 catamaran for a week,did a bunch of diving and went everywhere you mentioned, what a bawl.I know i'm a blowboater but i still have a place in my heart for offshore boats.Did you happen to get into spanish harbor on Virgin Gorda,there was a nice cigarette top gun painted with the stars and stripe theme with #6s on it that looked like it had a little fire problem.Also was woken up in the morning in Trevorick Bay buy an older Cigarette sitting on a lift there.Love the BVIs trying right now to line up a job for a year captaining a boat down there.

Didn't get into Spanish Harbor, but did spend 2 nights at Anagada, had the fabulous Lobster Feast on the beach at Potters. Only place to get a meal like that.

Stay away from Foxy's Tabboo on Yost, go to original Foxy;s instead.

How was Angada,didn't make it over there because the navigation looked a little trickie and the boat did not have a GPS onboard.Went to a full moon party on Tortolla the first night we got there that was kinda interesting.What was your expeience with Foxxys Taboo?

Anagada is great. Go to Potters, rather than Reef Hotel (adjacent to one another) as they are much more friendly and the lobster bake is awesome. Navigation is not that bad to the island, just look for the markers for the inlet and stay toward the left, then bear right striaght into the channel, lining up both sets of markers. Also, take a taxi from Potters to the opposite side of the island, and go to The Big Bamboo, awesome lunch food, Tiki Bar and the best snorkeling on the island, large reef and lagoon.

As far as Foxy's Tabboo, the chef had only been there a month, the waitress two weeks. The chef comes out and explains verbally the dishes, no written menu, reluctant to speak of any prices, and if there is any more than one party, when you order, if your not first, you get told they are out of this or that, only having 2 or 3 servings of some of the featured dinners. My daughter (picky eater) wound up ordering a cheesburger (not even suppose to be available) and it was the best meal out of 6 entrees ordered. We were the first table to sit down, the first to speak with the chef, and the last ones served, appetizers and entree sent out at the same time, and then presented with a check for $270.00, not including tip, and having had a total of 4 beers, one mixed drink and 5 sodas (sodas were $2 each, and for each refill). Truly the most disappointing dining experience in the whole 9 days we were there. Foxy's Tabboo is the spin-off of Foxy's and run by Foxy's son, who we were told is "Off Island" for a time, and the father wanted feedback on how things were. The people we went with have a house on Tortola, and know many people in the the islands and some friends told them that Dad was wondering how things were at Tabboo, so they called and spoke with him the day we were leaving. Maybe we will see the next trip, sometime in January.
