Loose Windshield

The back edge of the port side of my 311 windshield is loose. Not real bad, but not tight like the other side. It looks like the mounting screws come from inside the frame - do you have to take the glass out to get at them???

Pull the black rubber insert out of the channel. You should be able to access the fasteners from there.

rambunctious here

I have the same issue
I am not sure how to get the rubber insert out. I guess I'll check. I was going to look in the gunwale and try to see the bolt. hopefully put a couple jammed nuts on, then tighten the nut that's against the washer.
I'll post my results if that works

Re: Loose Windshield

The weather has been absolutely crap here for days so I haven't been down to my boat to see if I can get the rubber insert out. When I was trying to figure out why the windshield was loose I did look underneath, from within the gunwale. The screws don't stick through far enough to put an extra nut on them, and it looked like it would be just about impossible to reach all of them.

Hopefully I can check out the rubber insert this weekend.

Thanks, RedDog32. The insert popped right out and I tightened the screws. Good as new.
