Damn, I'm getting too excited and I'm gonna end up paying their asking price...

Yeah my power is stock, 502 Magnums(carb) coupled to Bravo 1 drives. still running stock exhausts, no mods at all. I'm debating whether to go for a set of exhausts this winter, trouble is cash...only just had enough to buy the boat and run it so my spending on mods has been a non event!! I live in the UK and generally my 311 runs faster than most other boats in my area...not like you guys in the US where there are a lot of poeple into their performance boats and you always know someone with more HP.

Blue looks nice on that 311, i didn't have much choice with colour on mine, there are hardly any 311s in the UK. the bright colour scheme has grown on me tho...it's different!!!

Go for the 311 tho, you wont regret it. i used to curse with the lack of space in my old 86 272, it was a nightmare with big blocks. if everyone else is tellin you 311, we cant all be wrong...personal choice at the end of the day!!

Cheers
Steve

Re: Now I want a 311

Yes sir the LutzParty is still up for grabs. 1988 311sr1 motors were replaced by the previous owner in 1998, interior was updated and boat was painted at the same time, we put new outdrives (bravo 1) in 2003. The paint shoppe repainted and touched up the entire boat in 2003 as well.
Runs and sounds great. Hoisted and never trailered since we have owned it.

Thanks for mentioning this Steve.

The 454 Magnums are a much stronger engine with a forged crank and rods. They also have 4-bolt main bearings; I'm not sure the 330HP engine does. My 311 will do an honest 65 on GPS - It has Magnums and Bravo outdrives with 23 pitch Mirage props which I think are original.

Our season is over here in Michigan and the boat is getting winterized this weekend. It will be for sale in the spring if you're still looking.

The stereo has been seriously upgraded and all service is right up to date. Did you want a trailer with that ?? :D

lol, i mentioned that to him in a pm... seriously, I had more fun in that boat. Glad you got the stereo upgraded, I'm clueless with them...When Ted got it from me it was at69-70 and 48-4900 rpm..and always started right away. the strippers liked the cabin too, they say the vinyl in the tiger is too hot:evilb:

Hey Rob, I spent over an hour picking Ted's brain last night. I'm checking the weather and flight plans :D
Seriously though, it sounds like the 311 with those 502 fuelies is the way to go. And for the $ we're talking, it couldn't be matched. I didn't realize it had AC/Heat?!?!?! As excited as I am though, gotta keep the emotional side in check; as in how big a check to write
It's good and it's bad to have all these options...
Thanks,
Michael

Hey Michael,
I didn't realize you have upped the ante on your search! So, even though my boat is not listed anymore in the OSO Classified, my 1990 292 SR1 is still for sale. Since we spoke, I have upgraded the exhaust with Stainless Marine manifolds and risers! With a low 370 hours on stock 454 magnums with meticulous maintenence history, I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed with her condition. She's always been indoor stored and NO RUST. Just a short 2hr drive from Ft Lauderdale!
