Well, looks like a lot of work is needed. All vinyl needs replacing, hull and deck needs full wet sand and buff, Dash needs help, bilge is in need of total strip and repaint, trannies probably need rebuilding, and of course, it needs motors and drives. Then there's all the electrical gremlins and other numerous odds and ends that just can't be planned for or budgeted. 12k seems a bit high to me. If you search around, you'll find 357s of that vintage in working condition for low 20s.

6-7k would make that a more doable project.

Just my two cents (you did ask for it) :D

yes I did ask for it. Thanks. I tought Hull could be 5000$, transom plate and gimball 1000$ each side, trannie 1000$ each side, plus a couple dollars for everything else...

Ya I would think that if some one offered you 5 grand you should send it up the road. Or part out the things that you have and then give away the hull.

Looks like a nice project! I like the colors! But, doing some quick calculations, I would expect to put at least $25k into it before I would begin to hope that it would run! $25k would be broken down as follows-$15k for low hour or rebuilt 502's, at least $7k for drives and gimbal assemblies and then $3k for misc wiring motor mounts etc... But then you still have the rest of the boat to deal with... Good luck!

Jeff-

I still have your Hinges, i just moved and they were packed away for ever, but like i said before, brand new stainless, 12ga will be on the way,

maybe i will wait a few weeks and wrap them for you, then it could be like a little mini xmas present..

i know the feeling of not wanting to sell the boat, mine will be going up this weekend for a steal to whoever takes it

jeff32 11-20-2006 09:55 PM

Re: My Project F 35-7 In Classified...

what do you mean by : going up this week-end for a steal? You have someone buying it and coming to get it ? Or just listing it for sale ?

And why would you sell it? You just got it this year! Right?

Were you in Lake George with your boat?

im putting it up for sale at a blow out cheap price to get rid of it, (24K in great turn key condition) i just bought a house and it doesnt fit in my driveway, plus i have a 2500HD chevy that struggles to pull it, i'd like to be able to trailer my boat to a few runs and things next yr around where i live.. In my current situation its a stressful pull.

I was in LG on my old mans boat, the F2 Cigarette "Maxx"
