Cocktails anyone . . .

Happy New Year Boys and Girls . . .

Anyone still up for an evening out at Ichiban as 3rd suggested?

Ya know I think that it has been almost 2 weeks since I have hosted a party and I just need to be a "HOOOOSTESS"!!!!!

Respectfully,
5PM-H

Sure...Pick the date. As long as it isn't the 26th or 27th of January, we're in!

Hey Axa,
Nice avatar!! I recognize that spot, matter of fact, I think I'm in the background!!.

We're tied up on the weekend of the 20th. This comming weekend is booked also. Axa is booked for the 27/28th.

Soooo, I dunno, after that I guess.

Sounds like we might be into the Upstate NY Bass Boat show timeframe. Maybe we change venues and possibly get a private room to hang out in at some restaraunt. I figure in that time frame we can get 12-16 people easy. Maybe Friday of boat show week. You'll all be on the hook for your own shrimp though. Thoughts? 3rd, you'll actually show this time, right?

Nice, real nice! Give a guy a compliment and look what it gets ya.

As for showing up 5P, sure I'll be there. I just love gawking at float boats and lumbering cruisers. Speaking of lumbering cruisers, you working the show Ragged? I'll expect a martini or two on the bridge of one of those overpriced Bayliners!!:drink:

When is the pontoon boat show anyway?

Yes, I will be there for sure, likely on the first day and thruout the entire show. We should plan a evening get together, needs to be after show hours. :drink: :drink: :drink:

We will only be serving Raytinis, maybe an occasional Fountini. (Fountinis are bourbon based, generally 8 year old or better)

Lets see, Velocity went down the road end of May, Fountain looked at, test driven, and bought on the spot with deposit mid July, balance of cash wired couple days later. Looks like six weeks to me, but I didn't chase after anything until the Velocity was gone and money in hand. And You???

So if the looking dosen't count, then my deal was mearly minutes. It took Samantha that long to go back to the car for the check book after we stepped into Roberts boathouse. :p

I thought that it was the time you were boatless, and then when you FINALLY put it (the new one) in the water?

Try this one on for size, and I quote...... " I wasn't informed of ANY competition, nor do I wish to participate in one."

For the record, for those prone to tracking such trivial chit;

Time elapsed from old boat out of parking lot and away to trade in on old boat sold = 1 hour for verbal from buyer, add 3 days to get financing for buyer set up, weekend slowed me up here, add one week for buyer to come pick up trade in boat and take away. Quite a feat on my part, in that both were Velocities. No doubt some form of devine intervention here.(RIP will get this, you might not.)

Time elapsed from trade in on old boat away to start of search = 3 days, again the weekend, needed to deposit proceeds of trade in sale, and why miss out on a weekend on the Sea Ray loaner with A/C.

Time to make decision to buy boat once seen = 5 minutes, took Samantha longer to go get checkbook from the car to make deposit. Add time here for return trip home from Kentucky and time to wire transfer balance of cash to Robert for boat.

Time from old boat away to purchase of new one = 6 weeks +/- , add some more if you like for the fetching and launching. And I did fart around washing and waxing before launching, but that's me.

Time spent suffering the ill effects of boatlessnes = ZERO!!! Thanks to my friend/employer M.L. and my association with his marina I was never without a boat to camp out on. Not so bad, a 340 Sundancer in my slip and a small center console/shop boat for buzzing around.

Time spent waiting/wanting for my 1st Fountain = Most of my adult life.

Time spent looking for my next Fountain = A little bit every day.

Time to the purchase of my next Fountain = Don't know, like the present one, I'll know it when I see it. Maybe the next time I'll do a trade deal, then my story can be just like yours. Short, simple and easy.

There you have it!!!:p
Now where the chit did that woman put the easy button?

you gentlemen are truly worse than little old lady's. Lets get this thread back on track, nobody gives a chit that you all had your boats within 10 minutes of the last deal, this thread is about cocktails and getting together socially, (what boating is really about) . To that end the little woman and I went for a light dinner tonight at a place that may be excellent for our little outing the Friday of Pontoonarama here in SYR. When Axa and the Mrs. were here we stopped by a place in B'ville for a post ****ens cocktail. Very nice place and they have a room which will accomodate 8-18 people. Sounds about right. Excellent food, great atmosphere, and there's even a band up in the ballroom starting at 830. Conveniently located, easy to get to from the F'grounds. We penciled in the room. The web link is www.moheganmanor.com Look it over and let us know your thoughts.

Quick tidbit . . the chef at this restaurant is Rick DaCuffa, same chef that is up at Joeys in A'bay . . .

Mike and I can host pre-dinner cocktails for those who do not have to work the boat show. :drink: :drink: :drink:

Looks real nice, and B'ville is a good spot, we've been staying out in that area the last few years, so that all works. The Friday part might not be so good for us. Samantha has to work all day then drive to Syracuse, get settled into the motel, then get over to the show where I will be until the bitter end at 9 pm. We also then have two vehicles to deal with unless we side track to the motel and dump one. Saturday is the earlier open for pontoonarama which makes the AM hangover a problem, need to be sharp of mind when trying to schlep them overpriced Bagliners. WHAT ABOUT SATURDAY INSTEAD? Would give you guys, and Bird time late afternoon to do the show, then you could have cocktails at your hacienda, Samantha could go with you, then we can meet up for dinner after the show closes. Mark and Wendy would probably be up for the deal as well, if you would like to include them. And Sunday is not as early an open for the show, so staying out later is an ok deal. Think this over, get imput from Bird and Axa, and let us know. Our vote would be for a Saturday deal, just works better for us.
.........................................Peter & Samantha :D :drink: :D

And don't be stealing Sandy's -H !!! What about MV & -H included in the deal as well?

5PMSMWHR 01-12-2007 07:24 PM

Re: Cocktails anyone . . .

Saturday will not work for us, and AXA has their prom that night too. Tell Sam to take a 1/2 day,:D blow out of the show at 7 and join us. We made the reservations for 8pm.

MV-35 and -H are already on the list, emailed -H to look at the thread.

5PM-Wench (how's that . . . I was informed that the H was proper protocol, I wasn't trying to steal anybody's thunder)
