Before and after pics of water under cabin step
2 Attachment(s)
Look at the before picture and it looks probably like a new boat. The after picture looks horrible. I pulled the step off so I can clean/paint underneath and clean it all up. Think I can use a mild mold/mildew remover in there?
After I vacuumed the water out Sunday night I went back the next day...the puddle reformed! I "think" I soaked up most of what was there. It kept leaking in from the forward part of that compartment. I haven't busted my detail guy's balls yet because I just wanted to get this cleaned up. I also noticed what felt like dampness in the compartment under the sink. I'm wondering if maybe I have the dreaded windshield leak after all :( |
Re: Before and after pics of water under cabin step
maybe your detail guy took the water hose on your carpet to really clean them, then vacuumed what could be vacuumed but the extra water went in your bilge... Do you think it could be possible?

Re: Before and after pics of water under cabin step
I have no idea at this point...anything is surely possible.
One of the weirdest things though, is the compartment at the forward part of the "lounge" area, under that seat cushion. There's no obvious way for water to get in/out...no holes, no plugs, nothing I can see. Yet it had almost 3 inches of water in it...water that got in, but couldn't get out. I've got to take a look at the water tank and see if that might have sprung a leak. |
Re: Before and after pics of water under cabin step
Where do you store the boat? Outside or inside? have same problem with my 311.
|
Re: Before and after pics of water under cabin step
Nowadays it's stored outside. Very rarely do I not have at least the cockpit covered, and I verified yesterday that the cover goes well over the bottom of the windshield, preventing leaks. But if it's got a leak, all it takes is one time. Not to mention all the washdowns after a day on the water.

Re: Before and after pics of water under cabin step
My 357 does the same thing. I think my leak is from the forward lifting cleat causing this. I still have other leaks to take care of also.

Re: Before and after pics of water under cabin step
I can't make my text smaller, so think of this as a whisper-
"windshield screws, search the Force Luke, that's it,..........windshield............screws......... ....screws..........scre............sc............ .....s..................... :D :p |
Re: Before and after pics of water under cabin step
Yes Ted, it's the Formula Force that got me here! :D Remember when I was looking at 272s and insisted on having small blocks? Look at me now :evilb:
OK, so I was thinking about your windshield screws this weekend and actually lifted up the edge of the weatherseal. I only lifted the edge and didn't see any screws, so I'm guessing I've got to pull the seal altogether, and then I'll see them? Will I be able to get that seal back in there, or am I s......sc......scr.....scre....screw...screwed? :D :p |
