382 TV removal
 

I want to pull the 13 inch TV out and install a small inverter so the TV works off the battery instead of shorepower. Formula TAG sent me the instructions for removing everything but it doesn't tell you how to get the dang AC control panel off. Anyone help guide me with this......Robert, where are you? :D

Are you talking about the panel where the circuit breakers are? Is so, there is a round turn key you need to use on the panel.

some inverters will cause interference on the tv, they do make ac/dc tvs, some flat screens run off 12 volts they have converters in line, nice to meet you at the winter chil-out

No, I have that key and have opened the panel. I've refering to the 4x4 inch panel that is the AC controls to the left of the TV. Maybe it doesn't need to be removed to do what I've trying to do. I do need to remove the entire white panel that holds the 110 outlet, AC controls and TV in place.

It's got super-sticky tape around the flange on the front side. Keep working around it with a razor blade, and it will eventually surrender.

I'm assuming that you're making a new panel? Otherwise, all you have to do is unplug the network cable that plugs into the back of the control panel......

Just got the whole thing out...had to remove the paneling running down the starboard side to get everything out. Now I have a wiring question. (I'm not replacing anything, just changing the TV to work off an inverter instead of shore power)

The TV is plugged into a standard 2 plug wall outlet jack that is behind the TV panel. Something else is plugged into it too!!!! What is this? Does this other item work off the same TV circuit on the main shore-power panel? The wire for the mystery item runs down below the TV. My plan was to mount the inverter somewhere in this space and plug the TV into the inverter. This other item has me confused.

I think the other plug is for the tv antenna,it is a 110volt unit that somehow kicks up the reception.Guess you could run it off the inverter too.Disclaimer-I am not an electronics guy at all,just remember that Formula tv's have a powered antenna. Don't take my comment as an expert opinion.:p

Thanks Robert. After I posted that I went to eat dinner and the powered antenna came to mind....went out and sure enough that's what it is. Soon I'll have this thing set up to work off the batteries (inverter). Just need to figure out what circuit to tie it to so it can be shut off when not in use.

Many of the 07 Formulas are using inverters as standard equipment. Never understood why you had to run the genset or shore power just to run a low power TV.Post what inverter you use,have a couple of customers that may want to do the swap.
