Default looking to get another formula 303 or 312 opinions?

Sold my 25 Eliminator Daytona last week. Had a 93 Formula 271 SR-1 before that.

Now its time to start the search for its replacement. I was pretty dead set on another Cat but the wife wants a deck boat so we compromised on a performance V in the 30-35' range. (although if I find a smoking deal on a 30' Eliminator Cat she may in for a surprise )
as far as V's go Ive decieded on either a Formula 303 or 312 or a Scarab 33 avs in the 1998-2002 range. Must haves are twin 502's and under $80K other than that Im open

Are there many 502 mag equiped 303 's or 312's out there? are there any differences in the hulls on the fastechs?
What realistic speeds with a 312 see with 502's? (GPS speeds not happy speedo)
Do they even make the 303 in the fastech's?

Anyone have one for sale?

For your info the 303 was last made in 1996 and NOT a fas-tech hull. The 312 replaced it in 1997 with a single step. Most of the 303 SR-1 boat were sold with 454 Mag motors.

Sold a 312 / 502 mags with every option (including A/C that I added) last fall. Props needed a little work to get the bow up and saw 70 GPS anyday, 73 on a good day (speedo said 77 regularly). I think the prop work needed would have yielded another 1-2 more but sold the boat instead. No bottom changes on the 312 that I'm aware of and IMO they aren't real popular and therefore should be easily bought under $80K

Sir: You won't go wrong with a Formula! FYI, I just traded in a 2000 Fastech 312w454Mag, 180 hours. This is a super clean boat with the only "firestorm" graphics placed on a 312. I started with a 95 271, 00 fastech 312 and now proud to own a fastech 353. If you are interested in this 312, I can furnish further details and location.....barryd

Thanks for the replies guys. This is right along what I was thinking. Im very familiar with the Formula build quality from my old 93 271. I just wasnt sure on the 303 vs 312. the 312 is definately what Im looking for then. Id just like to have the newer white dash with updated guages. that was one thing I never liked about my 271 was the flat VDo guauges.

If you could get me the owners number that would be great. Ive left 3 messages with the broker listed on the ad and still no call back. Guess they dont want to sell it.

stangjeeper, I'm leaning really hard towards selling my 1990 292SR1 in favor of a center console. It only has 365 hours on 454 Mags/Bravo's and been indoor kept (until the last month or so). She is in mint condition 30' 11" long. Mostly stock except for Stainless Marine exhaust added last summer. She'll do 70+ and she'll be alot less than $80K! LMK!

Formula1,
Would you send me details and any pictures to me at [email protected]? Where are you located- in the Tampa Bay area here or further south like Sarasota or Ft Myers? I'm looking to step up a little larger and a little stouter and t

Would you be interested in a 2003 292 Fas-tech ? Instead of a 312?
