SR-1 Vintage Cabin Door Pt. 3
OK kids . . . the cuddy door is 1/2 inch 2370 Bronze plexiglass material. I need the front 11 inches of the top where it has the bend at 3 inches. My fabricator can make a lot of them out of a big sheet that I buy or I can find a 11.5 x 22 inch piece of it. Anyone need a door, part of a door or whatnot out of this stuff? Anyone have access to a piece of it that fits my requirements- otherwise, i am into a $350-400 project and a lot of left over material. My old, slow boat is a 311 sr-1. :drink:

I have a 89 door where the handle broke out should be plenty of material, I'll measure tomorrow. I've always wondered why I kept it.

I have a small crackin the piece that comes down over the door.

SeaWeasel, did he tell you how much the sheet was just for the material?
I imagine ours should be identical, but I was noticing that the following pieces "appear" to be the same stuff: cabin door entry hatch glove box lid and bordeing pieces dash panel-the flat deck with the cupholder Like I mentioned before, all of my pieces are in "working order" but are showing wear & tear; cosmetic cracking and fading. I might want to change colors so I'm curious what a sheet would go for. If you could get TWO pieces from trips' door that would be great. |
Michael- I am working on this project and will advise when i get the material from Steve. The full sheet of 1/2 inch 2370 bronze is $350 or so, I think. You could do all the parts with a full sheet and that might be the best bet if you are going to do all your parts "new". I am having a h@ll of a time with my dash, too- that thing is formica. The OEM supplier offered to try and find the old material and make it for me- the rest of my dash pieces have 0 fade, so I hate to not use the original stuff. Once again, old boats are cool.
