Add Trim-in-handle to old Zero Efforts?
1 Attachment(s)
Does anyone know if this switch will fit and can be added to my old zero efforts?
|
Yes it will. My brother-in-law is doing this as we speak to his 242. Simply pop out the middle of the handle and it should go right in. Also to add to the question...any thoughts on running the wire? My brother-in-law is trying to figure out the cleanest and best looking way to run the wires. This thread might help

I just picked up a set of used controls with the trim switch in the stick. The wires run through a formed tube (in this pic it is black) that runs down the back side of the stick. Maybe contact Formula, or the controls mfg.

Friggin awesome! Thanks posterchild!
As for running wires, I searched in the Tech Forum on "trim in handle", and came across a couple ideas: First off drill a hole in the handle to run the wires out of. Then I saw that US1 Fountain fabbed a stainless tube to run the wires down the handle and under the rubber. Or you could heat shrink the whole length from the handle down below the rubber. I wonder if I'll go crazy and get one for the drives and one for the tabs.... |
Yeah Treads, that's where I got the idea. Good snag picking those up! We're gonna have to have a thread for us SR1 folks that are going white!
Can you tell us how far down that tube runs? |

They must have a bunch of them, I've seen that auction go many times. Try contacting them directly and see what happens. Then we can all figure out the best way to add it to our controls :D |
