Steering wheel

I just bought this steering wheel, what is it going to take to get this steering wheel to work on my boat?

Does it bolt right on??

I think it will look good with the platinum Autometers as soon as I get them

thanks PJ

Should bolt right on but you might need different size bolts for the wheel offset.

Good luck getting your old one off. Had a heck of a time trying to get the one off my 311 and finally gave up.

88, I saw that wheel for sale but I was unsure how to bolt it up. The wheel is 6 lug an the old is 8 if I remember?

Take a pic when it`s done

I was out at the boat today it is 8 we will see what I can come up with pics to follow Masi

Masi have you used that leverage you ordered yet?

FASTRICE 05-22-2007 10:16 PM

Sorry I didn't realize older ones were 8 hole. Try to get at least 5 lined up and at least it will hold up and be secured pretty well.

no problem rice

I wonder if there is a adaptor available?

88, not yet I used some of the wax I had from last year on the sides, boat is all set just need to do the topside, hope it lives up to all the hype with all the shipping $40.

($40) is why Im glad you bought it first, thats a lot to spend on wax. What works on like new boats might not work on our 20 year old ones. Im interested in seeing if its hype or not also, keep me posted.

This is the compound I use with high speed buffer and follow with Meguires polish and Wax

well I figured I could get at least 4 holes to line up but only 2 would. I'm probably going to have a buddy drill a new bolt pattern into the wheel......dam it

88formula223 05-29-2007 04:13 PM

you guys have any ideas???

Holy Smokes 05-29-2007 04:52 PM

Rex Marine or Dana Marine carry several adapters for the various bolt patterns. I'd check with them before drilling your new wheel.
