Coast Guard/Capacity placard?

I've been meaning to ask this forever but hesitant cuz I don't want to get into trouble.
So on my '91 311, should there be one? What year did these things become mandatory? Hmmm...didn't think to look in my owner's manual to see what I can find there.
I was up to 10 people that wanted on my boat for Memorial Day weekend but left 4 at the dock because they were late :evilb: I had enough PFDs, but 6 people plus the Margarator, 7 jugs of Marg mix, 50lbs of ice, few gallons of tequila and my 8-person party raft was more than enough :D

Yes, there should be one mounted where the Perko Battery switch is under the bench seat. That's where mine is on my bird.

I believe its only required for boats under 20'

No kidding. I think I've looked over there only once or twice since I've had the boat; most times just open the seat enough to reach my hand in. Heck of a place to put it for quick/easy reference.

Mine is below the throttle area in plain sight.
I always thought they had to be mounted in plain sight.

BTW my F-206 has a capacity of 1500 pounds or seven people.

It is only for boats under 21 feet, you're cool.

311 is Yacht Certified ..

handfulz28 06-15-2007 07:10 PM

Nothing near the battery switch.
I guess "Yacht Certified" means as long as i've got enough PFDs for everybody, I'm good to go...
