Formula Stereo Wire Length....

Hey guys,I need to know what length of power/grnd wire I need to wire my sub amp up. I'm guessing the only ground on a boat is the neg batterie cable?? So i'm putting the amp in the cabin where the ice box used to be. Any one have an idea of how long a wire I need? Thanks guys

Depends where you're installing the amp. I installed a 4-channel under the sink (opposite the side where the 2 factory installed Kenwoods are bolted in), and I used approx. 12 feet of wire for the ground. Since you're need a hot wire as well, I recommend just buying about 30' of 4 gauge and that should cover you.

For grounding: On my 292 there is a ground block on the port side of the engine bilge, I would ground it there using a terminal\eye, rather than grounding straight to the battery. Helps keep the install clean and less is in the way when you need to pull the battery.
