Buying 07 353 fastech

i am looking at buying a 07 353 with either 496 ho's
or 525's what do you think i am new to power boats i have owned only cruisers.

If $$ is not an issue, go with the 525's. I think you will enjoy the higher HP.

The HO's are great motors and work well with the hull, but I think the extra power takes the boat to another level.

I know there is a leftover 06 with 525's in MI, that I'm sure the dealer is motivated to sell.

If you can swing it go for the 525's, it will be better re-sale and you will be much happier with the performance.

Good Luck on your new purchase.

the 496's will push the boat into the low-maybe mid 70's......is an extra 5-7 MPH at WOT worth the price difference? The 353 Sport is a great option compared to the regular 353's. If you don't have a dealer in your area I HIGHLY recommend you talk to Magicfloat here on OSO.

He has a pair of leftover 06 353's (496's and 525's). An 07, and a new 08 on it's way in. (and I bet he'd make a hell of a deal on that leftover 06 382 he has on the lot too!)

I really like the 06 353 that Magicfloat has w/ the 525's. Does anyone know how much he is asking for that?

Get the 525's. You will like the 496 till yur buddy has 525's and beats you to the dock. Unless, speed is not an issue. :D

Just curious Robert, can you tell me the approx $$$ difference between a loaded up 496 HO 353 "Sport" (with Latham steering, etc) and a similarly equiped 353 with the 525's. I was guessing around $75K.

I have an 06 353 sport with 496HO's ....74.5mph on the GPS...real nice. There is no such thing as too much power:evilb: speed=money.............buy from a reputable dealer, so you get good service and treatment AFTER the boat is delievered. Talk to MagicFloat. I am on Long Island and bought my boat from Ocean Outboard. I have no complaints.:drink:

I just talked with a guy & he told me he is glad that he went with the 525's? His name is Scott & his 03 353 is in the classifieds. Dennis
