What does it look like - 382 cabinet without the TV?
I want to delete the TV/VCR in my 382 cause we won't use it. We're never on shorepower and my kids have DVD's. I am wondering what it looks like if there is no TV. I would imagine there's alot of storage there and more is better when it comes to storage. Anyone have a pic? Anyone want to trade their non-TV cabinet for mine with the TV?
Also, my cabin door is hard to slide back and forth. Are they supposed to be greased or does that make em harder to slide once the grease sucks up all the dirt? Got alot more questions but I'll stop there :D |
Have my TV out and yes, there is some storage room there. I want to put a flat screen in like the newer models have. I can get you a pic when I have time. Heading out early am for the Chicago poker run.

I've had the TV out......the amount of room for storage wasn't worth the amount of work to convert the are over IMO. The door rides on 4 plastic "runners" if they are worn replacing may help. Mine can get stuck occasionally so I've sprayed the track with a little WD-40 and it helped alot. Once it gets bad enough I'll have to replace those runners.

After I did the flat screen conversion, I though the amount of room was well worth it. I just need to clean up the excess wiring. A lot of the cables are longer than they need to be. I'll post again once I get it cleaned up. We store lots of dry goods back there - bread, crackers, snacks, etc.
By the way - this is a 12-volt TV/DVD.... Clean both the upper and lower door tracks as best you can, and apply a tiny little bit of silicone grease on the edge of the track rails in the middle of the extrusions. The door will slam shut with a flick of the wrist. |
Thanks guys. What does it look like when a customer did not choose the TV option? Is there a cabinet door there? Or was the TV standard....?

Don't know. The TV was an option when I ordered mine in 2000, but has become standard since then. Current factory version:

Based on CSpray's pics I don't see the reason to order a new boat without the TV. All they would do is leave the front "door" intact and not install the DVD player. Those don't take up very much room in that 2nd/3rd pic.
OH, your looking to convert yours over by removing the TV. There is ALOT of other wires, etc back there that would need to be moved around. I found some of mine weren't long enough to push completely out of the way. |
