2000 271 540ci EFI
 

I have a 271 fastech repowered to a 540ci sure did wake it up at about 12hrs with a 28p iam running 77.9 GPS @5200 / with two other people on board moter is map @ 5450 with a 30p and driver only running 74.2 @4800 luv the boat but gets ignorant at that spd going to try putting some balest in cabin and try it again still some throtle left looking for 81/83 mph ANY OTHER IDEALS

Does it start to chine walk at those speeds? Do you have full hydraulic steering? I have a 98 271 rigged with the less than stout bennett trim tabs. Maybe some 280 kplanes would help your handling issues.

start,s chine walking at 72 mph BUT only when i,am in the boat . had two other people with when i hit 77.9 on lake MICH with less then 1 foot wave,s and never acted up at all / yes i have the bennett,s also gave thought to the 280 kplanes but this year have spent a tidy little sum that,s why i would like to try 2 or about 4 bag,s of play sand in cabin, anybody try that yet TONY aka ***etaboutit !

yes it does have a 1 inch imco shorty !

Anyone looking for 80 without full hydraulic steering is one crazy mofo. IMHO.

how is it gett'n on plain with the shortie?

getting on plain with the shorty is no problem donot need as much trim and get's with the program quickly

My wife & I will be there for the shootout, but will be dockside @ shooters 21. Let us know how your boat handles the water conditions. LOTO is one rough SOB.
What brand of hydraulic steering are ya using? Was it already equipped when ya bought the boat? Planning on going full hydro with our 271 this winter.

one ruff S O B i cannot seeing be more but less then lake MICH do not know if i will be running the mag mile but i can tell you this with two other people in or on board on lake MICH with about one foot or less it will do 77.9 gps with a 28p lab prop look forward to hopfully meeting you ! hydro was already on when i bought the boat

I would send your 28P prop to one of the prop shops for a little tweeking. It would be interesting if you could get a 2" shortie to try and see what the 2 props do.

MY 28 has been cut by half inch it was just a pick up prop trying out my 30p and will lab it will not be ready for this week for the shoot out !
