88 242 LS alternator hookup?
 

Hello again everyone.

Just recieved the alternator and it is alittle different than the original. It has 4 terminals and I have four wires so we are good there. ARCO Alt by the way.

I have red (positive), black (negative), orange (charge), purple (excite).

On the back of the alternator it is there is a positive post, negative post, and then two posts labeled ACC. Are these two ACC posts for my purple and orange wires and which goes where?

offthefront - Thank you I went there however my alt doesnt match any of rhose. It looks like the second one down on the left however those terminals dont look like mine.

88 let me get the boat running which should be this week and I will get in touch with you. Be benched the motor before dropping it in at 550 hp so we are sure it runs.

So anyone got some ideas on this alternator?

so u have a 550hp motor in there?

Yes dyno tuned by the builder with a 750 double pumper .60 over bore and a hotter cam with ported and polished heads.
