St. Louis riverfront run
3 Attachment(s)
Tried something new over the weekend and thought I'd share some pics. Decided to lock through down to the St. Louis riverfront. I always wanted to get a pic of the 292 under the arch. Hard to believe all that industry is only 45 miles south from our normal boating area. Quite an experience and had no problems. My brother anchored his 24' Monterey right infront of the arch and we rafted off and ate lunch. Good times!

The last pic is the river that morning just outside our marina.

Great pics....
We fish out on the MO around Defiance with small boats.. never had made that trip! |
Thanks for the pictures - there is another late model 292 on the river (Bradman). About a month ago, he went all the way to St. Genevieve and back - locked thru 4x.

Hey 4, what marina do you use? Your pic looks like Woodland or Lakeport.

That is a great shot!!! I have always wanted to do that as well.

Lock 27 is HUGE. 1200 ft (jeez, that's almost a 1/4 mile!) by 110 ft. Below is a pic. We shared the lock with a small barge and a tug. |
Sweet! Do you have to worry about debris in the water? I've never boated the Mississippi like that and just wondered what the biggest issues were.
