Koz, did you buy from Bald Knob ? I think I saw your 292 when it was in for winterizing. Great boat for someone whos looking for a clean used 292.

fastmcars 11-16-2007 05:49 PM

Why didn't you just trade it in?

have you ever traded anything in? Not to sound like a azz but thats a stupid question

fastmcars 11-18-2007 10:24 AM

Yes, as a matter of fact I've traded in a lot of stuff. The man just bought a $400,000 boat that will be worth $250,000 in one year. He must be doing something right that he makes enough cash for that depreciation! If you look at all the 292's for sale, good luck. I just hate taking phone calls from tire kickers, no money people, people trying to trade for their crap they can't sell. Not to mention that you need to sell that boat for another $6000 to cover the trade in tax! All in all, I don't think that trading in sounds too bad now.

How fast did they say it will run with 600's?
I'm guessing 90+

true the tax credit does eat some of the potentials loss

just starting to look at 292's as an option, have not seen one in person. Just curious as to how you get to the bow from the cockpit? My Baja has molded steps then through the windshield, how do you access the top deck on a 292?

On the port side, next to the passenger seat, there is a step. Then you step on the glove box and proceed over the windshield port side. It isn't the greatest, but after a few times, it's a breeze.

Sorry people Ive been out of town for the past few weeks and havent been online.
Yes this boat was purchased from Bald Knob. It is in the classifieds.
I wasnt able to get good photos of it. All I can say is it is in great shape oil changed every 30 hrs.
I have been looking at 353's and was about to order one then I was shot down by the wife.
From What i was told the 353 with 600's is about a 95mph.

Has anyone went from a V-hull to a cat??????????????

t500hps 11-25-2007 08:34 PM

Magicfloat (Robert Nelems) is a Formula dealer and has sold at least 1 353/600 boat. If you ask about them on Speedwake I'm sure he'll give you all the details. (I seem to remember seeing him post the boat would do 94.3)

FRMULTR 11-26-2007 07:05 AM

Koz, I've gone from a V hull to a cat, and back again. Cats are great for overall speed, but lack some of the creature comforts of a V hull. I'm going from a 95mph Daytona to 70mph 292, but being able to run a little bigger water with the 292 will hopefully keep me happy. If not ,well I guess I could always build, no,no no, stock is hot stock is hot, I've got to keep convincing myself.
