what about the 336
maybe to old an era for you. bult through 96. no step but more headroom than the 353. huge sunpad. and basically the same cockpit for the same price as a 312 only downside, not as fast. but prolly a smoother ride than the 312 or 353 with it's 24deg deadrise and weight. my wife REALLY enjoys how smooth the ride is, through cruiser wakes it does not move, and pounds the 4' ers on lake michigan Ramb Hey Ramb, I agree with you totally .... the 336 is a nice ride I orginally was thinking about mentioning a 311 like mine for the same reason but I figured it was to old for him. It was funny this summer we had my 311 , 336 and a 353 rafted together. Amazing how close the boats were in size... 353 was longer for sure. but the 311 and the 336 were negligable. The one nice thing about the 336 and the 353 was the door to the cabin .... much more user friendly to go in and out of the cabin espicially coming from a fat guy like myself. The 311 ,336 and 353 with no question have a better ride then a 312. All three are longer and heavier which equals a smoother ride. The 353 once again is really no comparison to the 311 and 336 it is in a league of its own when it comes to ride and handling ........ they really are awesome .... only approx. $100k-$150k between me and one of those. lol ... some day I guess ...... |
I tow a little but have a 05 crew cab duramax 2500, does fine on the 312 but im betting with the 382 I might be white knuckling it a little, and as far as the 370ss goes, that would be great if I did have the jack$$..I guess i have all winter to think about this, maybe keep the 312 and pick up an older cruiser might be the best solution for now.

Had 502's in mine........72-73 on a good day but the props and bottom on mine was good/ but not perfect. I would think 454's would be 1-2 slower. Expect 70 at best, anything more is a bonus. All speeds listed as GPS...my speedo regularly said 77-78 :cool-smiley-027:. |
try to go with the 353 if you can. Alot of stuff in the 353 is standard equipment that isn't in the 312. If you can find a 353sport, (or are buying new) you can save a considerable amount of money and still have a great boat. the 353 is definately a better hull design. i am not saying there is anything wrong with the 312. I just love my 353

Hi all,
What sort of cruise speeds do you get out of the 312 and 353 with 500's? Also, what fuel usage at those speeds? What speeds will they plain at? Cheers Dave |
