Gaskets for square exhaust tips on SR1 platform?

Can't believe it's been a year I've had these off but I'm trying to get them done before this weekend. The original rubber gaskets were sagging so not reusable. I know to call Robert for the originals, but does anyone have any ideas what i can use for a quick fix before this weekend? I was thinking maybe a bead of clear silicone on the tip and let it dry before installing. I figure it might be easier to get the silicone off the tips and a good wax/polish on the platform will keep anything from sticking. I'm open to all other ideas.

Sounds like silicone / RTV would be a good idea. I don't see why that wouldn't work.

Yeah the back of your boat looks naked without those tips - get moving slacker! :p

Hope all is well Mike! Man I miss that Florida weather, and my boat :(

You can always buy gasket material and get busy with an Exacto knife.....

Hey Jason, don't be a stranger! Hope things are well up there for you at least.

Oof...gasket material...I guess I should take a closer look at that stuff to see how much time would be involved. Thanks for the idea. :D

Mine were gone when I got my boat four years ago ... I don't think you'll miss them.

Hey Mike,

Things are good, but cold! Hope things are well down there for you too.

I was thinking, those things are more for looks, so you probably don't even need any gaskets really. A bead of silicone probably wouldn't hurt though to prevent potential rattling.

If you want gaskets that will last, you need to find a sheet of silicone rubber and cut them. regular neoprene rubber is organic and will always rot. nothing wrong with silicone rtv.
