We have a 1994 303SR1, 502's with Bravo's. This is our first season with this boat. Looking forward to meeting more Formula friends on the Delaware river and the Upper Chesapeake Bay area.

C-spray, see you on the water! Let me know when you go out boating for the first time this year. I could use some pointers driving twins!

really the slowest boat!

MissMyMoney and Dego Red I am really sorry to inform you that I am pretty sure that I have the slowest boat. I do care about speed (I wish it would go faster) figure 35 tops. But it is a really sweet boat 36PC. I keep wondering if I am going to get kicked out of this forum cause my boat is not "up to speed";)

toolman 03-03-2002 07:36 PM

DJW,

Where do you run your boat? We will be running the Delaware river and upper Chesapeake bay area. Look for us in a 303SR1 with palm beach "Z" graphics. Happy boating!!!

Dave (toolman)

DJW 03-05-2002 12:37 AM

Toolman,

I can be found anywhere from Chesapeake Inn to Red Eyes. I like Great Oak and Baltimore also. My 311 is all white with a blue stripe and black checkers. Maybe we will run into eachother this year. Take care, DJW

Which one do you have? I saw a brand-new one in the factory in December. I have a 382, and love it. (See picture earlier in this thread or go to my web site below.)

1984 F402 230 total hours T454/475HP. Not to fast , about 60 top (it's heavy) but I'll be glad if it actually RUNS this year. Home port is just off the Magothy river on the Chesapeake.

boilerdaddy 03-11-2002 08:40 AM

Chuck, glad to help you relive your glory days. Aren't you glad it's football season again in West Lafayette?

Robert, I'm claiming sixty or seventy out in the "garage" (do they have to be completely finished?).:D

C_Spray 03-11-2002 10:10 AM

Uggghhh - football season at Purdue: "Once again, Defeat has been yanked from the jaws of Victory". My "Glory days" were at the Purdue Grand Prix - won it in 1976. :D

By the way, BoilerDaddy - nice "garage" you guys have in Decatur. Very, very nice.

ctpsclark 03-31-2002 08:50 PM

Props for 272

Have 1986, 272 with twin 350 Mercruiser, 250 hp---had three blade stainless steel clever props when I bought it used. They do not pull out of the hole very well. Am wondering if there is a better prop set up for more efficient mid range and better bang out of the hole, even at the expense of a couple of top end miles per hour.

Thanks

Dave F: Procharged? Didn't that have a B&M on it the last time I saw it? You must be moving up in the world....

Don't forget - NJPPC get-together ar D&B in Philly April 20, 2-5 PM, and (probably) another raftup at Dredge Harbor on May18th. Spring's a-comin'! :D

boatinbill 04-01-2002 10:17 AM

Enough of the Purdue talk, I was there '73-77. Both my of my sister's kids went there also, early 90's. I grew up close to Purdue in Frankfort.

AH, the Purdue Grand Prix, I was good friends with Chuck Sprague, helped a little with the Tarkington team.

I haven't been back for 10 years.:D

Cripes!!! That's me! (Or did you figure that out from my earlier post about the 1976 Grand Prix?) I haven't been back since 1996.

Dave F 04-02-2002 12:31 AM

Chuck,

You must have me confused with someone else.

I had the Blue 242 that (at the time) didn't idle very well. Karen, you, and "whoo hoo" made fun of me because I didn't have matching dock lines.
I was the "white trash" of the first get together last year.

I guess all the polished aluminum and stainless steel blinded you.:p

When is the first get- together? Is it gonna be by the TP Bridge again?

Dave F 04-02-2002 12:42 AM

Chuck,

The rest of your post just sunk in:rolleyes:
April 20 at D&B...My B-day is the 21st if you're interested;)
and May 18 at Dredge.

got it.

Does D&B charge to dock? I just wanna be prepared, I've never docked there before.

Maybe if I had matching dock lines, they wont charge me. I'll have to run out and get some:D

DAVE

C_Spray 04-02-2002 08:27 AM

Dave F - I remember exactly who you are. I could swear that you had a top-mounted blower on that thing. Oh, well - Like they say, the memory is the second thing to go. (I can't remember what the first thing is....)

Seems to me that you were the one beating yourself up over dockline envy. I know that a bunch of people on OSO recently got a deal on some llines through a member who sells lines for Hotropes.com, but I just ordered a pair from www.MyRope.com. Not only were they cheaper than Hotropes, they embroidered the name of my boat on them for free. Pretty cool. Either of these are single-braid floating lines, available in pretty much any color you want. If you want to go for the all-singing, double throwdown, salty dog braid-on-braid lines, I recommend Miami Cordage at www.IMakeRope.com. (That's where I got the lines for my Formula - made to length with color-coded whipping.)

Technically, there is a $6 flat rate for tying up at D&B. You are supposed to purchase a token at one of the waterfront businesses to get back in to the docks, but everyone ran out of tokens two years ago, so now the latch to the gate has been taped over. There is no attendant at the docks. You may want to bring an extra $6 just in case the system has been reinstated.

(I guess all this should really be under the NJPPC thread In the General Discussion section, shouldn't it?)

It's a shame that this post has been open for a month and I'm just replying:( . Anyway, there are alot of sweet rides in here!

I have a 1990 292SR1 with twin 454 mags sitting on a triple axle Eagle trailer  I'd post a picture, but I'm not sure how to!!

I want to try the white rubrail, but the bottom of the back seat is starting to dryrot, probably should fix that first!

Steve
