382/600's speed
 

Ran our 08 photo shoot 382 today prior to Thurs sea trial with buyer. 85 GPS. Always amazed at the 382,big,heavy wave crusher,but can put down solid numbers.

that's some good speed for ''only '' 600HP

Ours also runs 85. We had half tank of gas and 6 people running 81-82. We are ready for something faster though. Great boat though

Nice!!!!!!! The 382 FasTech design is 10 years old now.........they have to be coming out with a new model soon.........right?

Those are good numbers for that boat! I would not doubt you could squeeze a little more out of her.

Before went sent our Spider boat to New Mexico last year we got it to 87 GPS.I'm sure the potential is there on this one.

I am curious, what is the longevity of the 600's vs the 525's ?

I like the speed as well but prefer the lower maintenance motors that will put out the hrs before problems will arise.

We have had no long term issues on either motors.600's are very low boost,sometimes referred to as "cosmetic blowers". Both have FormulaGuard 5 year warranty,the warranty folks could not afford to offer this if there were longevity problems.I am very comfortable with either.
