242 formula witha 350 vortec
 

Hello, I am loooking at a 85 242 Formula with a 97 350 votec motor in it. Anyone have any input on the riding and performance of this rig. What can I expect? I'm not looking to be a speed demon, just wanta good riding rig that can handle some lake waves. I really need more room for my boat cruises.

the 242 will handle an aweful lot of snot, anything more then what I had it in no boats under 30ft should be out anywayz, I loved mine and never felt unsafe

You are only going to see low 50`s put the ride will be very nice for a 24 ft boat.

Turns out the boat was a F3 LS(21'6") with a 350. It was in great shape but is smaller than what I am looking for.

Keep looking there are lots of nice 242`s for sale, but you may have to drive for them, and go for a BBC you will see 55:(
