Rear Lettering
 

My boat is USCG Documented, and I need to get the lettering installed. I found a graphic shop to do the job, but he is concerned on installing on the non smooth surface below the swim platform. The area has three small 2" steps on it.

Can anyone with a 382 send me some photos of how they installed their letters? The graphic guy wants to see a pic of a boat that has letters on that surface. (He wanted to put the letters on top of the exhaust ports) I told him that they would be under water and could not be seen.

Any help is appreciated.

This is a 353, but maybe it helps. Our home port is on the right side, under crome Formula name. (we are not documented)

I don't see why the 3 2" steps would cause any problems for your graphic guy. Worst case, he'll need to use a little heat to make the vinyl conform, but other than that, should be no problem.

Post a picture after it's done.

I would check with Dukenrock to see if he can send you a shot of his "Twisted Pair". Nicest graphics I've seen yet ...

I installed graphics on a 292 last summer - in the water at the dock. Took a little extra time, but had no troubles. Like I said, tell him to be prepared to use a little heat to conform to the steps and you'll be fine.

The lettering is Coast Guard approved...I've been stopped twice and they had no issue with the lettering size. These are vinyl letters that I purchased at West Marine. I'm probably going to be changing the lettering this year to a solid color.
