NIce clean engine bays guys , I like it. This is good info I need to make up my mind Its getting warmer! Did you notice any gains in performance 454 Captiva? Thanks Bob.

I sure didn't highroller, but that was because i had some pretty good flowing exhaust from the factory. Original 420 exhaust manifolds were pretty good in the performance arena but they lack a lot in the not squirting water into your cylinders area. Mine were planed down with new gaskets and still leaked so i popped for the imco's. Damn those factory manifolds were heavy though, i had to save at least a hundred pounds! Gil's were an option on the 420's i just wonder why they all didn't have them???

I went with the EMI Thunder on my 292, 502's. Not bad price wise either.

I have been looking into the exhaust you all have sugested, undecided at the moment. After pulling all the ebows off, gaskrts are all shot, from what 454 captiva said could surface them but i woundered if they would still leak. Yes they are heavy!! This is my first formula they sure are nice boats even for 21 years old. Freinds of mine had these boats and i have liked them for years. Its nice to here from people with these boats to learn what works and what dont.

I wouldn't mess around w/ old exhaust. If they let go you can destroy a motor in no time!

Here's what I found, two sets of used gil manifolds and risers for trs dirves. The risers tails are dry I would have to add water exit pipes if I would keep them that way or cut the ends off and use my boots and stock exits. The stock holes are 4" down to 3" out .What way would be better drill new holes to 4" and run the new pipes straight out dry or leave the 3" holes and run them from 4" down to 3" with boots wet ? Seems like 4" dry would be better but a lot more work.
