What will be the best prop for a 1988 242 SS with a 454 330 Hp (1997 model)?

21 Mirage is what it came with (if it's a Bravo). On second thought, it might have been a Bravo 1.

In any event, 21 incher is what you need.

Hi Masi

Thanks for the reply

What kind of engine?

Top speed?

And how was the midrange ride?

masi242 05-14-2008 08:31 PM

My 242 has a BBC 350hp with a alpha drive 1.5 ratio the best I have seen is 55mph (gps). I usually cruise around 3100-3500 and it`s great I like the way the four blade feels.

good luck

masi what do you think I should use............. 223 with 454 and alpha???

I know its bad but I have no idea whats on it now......(Ive had it 5 years lol) Id ask my dad but I doubt he remembers what he but on it, probly a "turbo" brand 22"

masi242 05-15-2008 07:19 PM

88, I`m only going to guess but maybe a 4blade 22 pitch only because you have less weight you will be able to spin a 22 that`s why I labbed mine. It is trail and error, but you may want to talk to bblades on the board and see what they say. I was lucky with mine my friend had this sitting in his basement not a mark on it.

good luck
