sun pad problem

This weekend we just noticed the sun pad vinyl lifting away from the pad at speed. It started to balloon on the port side, but by the end of the day, it was moving across to the other side. Has anyone seen this happen? I have it at the dealer to look at. Any long term fixes or will this keep happening if I go fast? Is there an adhesive that is failing?

Has been the case with most of the boats I've had that had a large single sun pad. The last 35 Fountain had the split hatches and didn't seem to do it much. The skin could probably be tightened up to stop the baloon effect, but too tight would put more stress on the stitching when walking or sitting on it. My boat now does it a little, looks odd, goes away when you slow down, I guess it's the compromise.

Kind of like this??? This was my last boat. I have not checked the sunpa on the new one yet to see if it does the same thing.

just don't look at it when going more than 60 mph ,I've lost shoe's and ropes when I left them in the boot:D

Yup!!!:D Kinda looks like a rear spoiler, who knows, maybe it's a good thing, rear downforce like the cup cars.

How did you notice? At those speeds, you should be looking at where you are going...not aft - where you've been!

Unless of course the Coast Guard is chasing you...:D

I think that is not an uncommon problem with the one-piece vinyl pad covers.

I've noticed if there is a lot of "foot" traffic on your boat's sunpad the more of a stretching effect will occur thus creating that balloon effect.

Have BK warranty the vinyl and see if it occurs a second time.

In my case I'm looking back to see where all my Formula driving buddies have gone. He!! at 90+ a Fountain kinda drives itself. :D

My wife actually noticed it. She sits in the rear seats with my 6yr old yelling "Faster daddy, more bumps!!!"
It actually ballooned up with the headrest coming up also. The boat is only one year old so I hate to see what it will look like in 3 years.
