Speed question on 292 with 6.2's

What would the top speed be of a 292 with 6.2' --- 12 hours less than a 1/4 tank of gas with three guys on board?

We got 68-69.

Does this seem accurate?

What does everyone see?

Thats about right the best I have ever seen is 71.That was with a tail wind and about 1 foot chop

debcod2 07-20-2008 08:51 PM

Hey Bob,
Never Satisfied will run 68-69 consistantly.

Best it has ever done with me and the wife, less than a 1/4 tank, was approx 70-71.

We are gonna be in LOTO and I heard you are going down on Aug 3rd which is the day we are coming back unfortunatley.

We will have to get together on the chain sometime.

Jason

I've know 2 people with that boat and they both claimed it would get just over 70 under the best of conditions.

FRMULTR 07-21-2008 06:41 AM

70 it is

Hell, at the rate I am going I am hoping I have my boat back by then.
It has been at BK since 4th of July and starboard motor has been tore apart for almost 2 weeks so far.
I have been told that the relief in the oil pump was wore out and they are supposed to have it back up and running in a day or two.

We will see.

Heres an idea! how about if I don't get mine back, I will take yours and run it for a few days and I will just meet you on the 3rd when you get there to hand it over!!!:evilb:

Look at the gas money you will save only having to pull it one way!

Hi Jason how was the OZARK's we just got back. I saw you on Sat the 2nd. Leaving a cove. We were at the Legends Condo's. I tried to yell out to you but I was on a Waverunner and could not catch you.

What a great lake! :D

FRMULTR 08-11-2008 04:34 PM

Aboutme, was that you I saw at BK yesterday?

Expensive Date 08-11-2008 08:19 PM

Had my props cleaned up and balanced before this season. They probably came back a little smaller because there were a few nicks.Lost a couple of MPH on the top end but mid range and coming up on plane are better.
I know it would make it slower out of the hole but has anyone tried 30 pitch 4 blades.I think the 6.2s can still wind out with them will take a while but might pick up 3 or 4 on the top????

Too bad we didn't get a chance to get together.

We all had a great time for the short 3 days we were there.

It was friggen hotter than hell but we founds ways to survive.

We stayed at the Ledges.

Are you going to the air and water show downtown this weekend?

We are planning on going on Sat as long as the weather holds out.

I am only getting 5K out of my 28's. There is no way I could turn 30's. These motors are supposed to turn 5200.

I agree. 5K is the most I ever see with 28's. This pic is from a cool day in the fall on good water.

Hi FORMULTR, You pulled off the gas dock...

Yes that was me. Was bringing the boat back for a LOTO vacation.

It was a long drive but really worth the trip. Weather was great and the lake even better. Who knew that deep lakes could get that warm.:p

FRMULTR 08-12-2008 09:20 AM

Yeah, I've been down to LOTO alot with my old Eliminator, but not with the 292, yet. And yes the water down there is so much nicer then the chain. You can actually go in that water and not come out with a disease. I've usually been there during the shoot out, but would like to try it at a different time of year.

I run Bravo 28s and can bounce off the rev limiter at 5400 (not that I do it often). 71-72 GPS, solo, 1/4 tank, sea level, saltwater, post-silent thunder removal.

Mentioned this before, but I think any gain I saw from the S/T removal was due to weight savings, not any improved exhuast flow.

Maybe you could spin labbed 30s for more top end, but I think planing and mid-range cruise would be lousy.

Thanks for the input
