3 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys I am another happy 242 SS owner,mine is a 88 with 454 330 hp Mirage 17 pluss.
I have bought a Mirage 21 pluss now, I am looking forward to see what kind of speed i will reachwith the new prop. But frist I have to go through a loooong cold winter here in Norway (North Europe) Some questiones: My hatch lifter is broken, where can I find a new/used one???? What kind of trim tabs did Formula use for the 242?? I would like to buy a trim tab indicator, any tip wich one?? Are there any point to change from stock merc exhaustsytem to Gil or Imco etc? If so wich one and how mouch effect would it give??? Anyone tried to change the rubrails?? Thinking of painting the hatch on deck white, also change the rubrail to white with an steel or aluminium insert. Not sure but imagine that it will give a nice and modern look to the boat. I am missing the material for the screw cover gasket. Looks like some kind of hard rubber, wher can I get itand what can I use ??? Thats all for now:drink: regards from Oslo, Norway Ps Picture of the boat and some new things that come in the post the other day |
You may not be that far off with that prop, the rubrail can be taken apart and cut down it will clean up the look a little.
The hatch lift I believe you can find at Cpperformance $250? The trim tabs were Bennet $450? The exhaust is a personal thing it will make more sound why not:drink: |

I kind of like the sound of the silent thunder. Not so laud that other boaters get mad, still enough to hear that nice big block sound. he he http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5wXZ229Iwo What about the screw cover gasket??? ciao Rune |
