McLeod bolsters in my 91' 292sr1?!?!?

Does anyone else have problems with the McLeod bolsters staying up? I called for the replacement cylinder and spring and she wanted $400 for it. If anyone else may have an alternative please advise.

I had a 92' 271 and had to have the cylinder rebuilt by the company that used to supply McCleod these cylinders. I think it was P. L. Porter and they are located in California. Looking at my old notes, I believe the phone number is 818-884-7260. These air assist cylinders were used in commerical jets. I believe it cost about $150.00 to get the cylinder rebuilt.

I am switching mine out to power. Looks like it will cost about 100-150 per side. I am simply placing a linear actuator in place of the shock spring thingy and swapping out the button for a switch.

Mine were not holding and I check the cable. It turned out that the cable was not relaxed and still held the pin in to let the cylinder to leak down.Look in to that.My 2 cents.

At least she returned your calls! I have called and emailed Stephanie 4 times with no response yet (since the middle of January)!

I need on for mine as well, Glencove at LOTO had one last year. Problem is, I think the whole seat has to come apart to replace it.

Tell me more about the swap to an actuator?
