Anyone here buy a used 292 from Trenton?

Stopped by my marina on Thursday last week and saw them loading a 292 onto a new trailer. Was told it was sold. Just wondering where it was going and if it was anyone on here.

Your 272 is pretty comparable to the 292 Fastech in size. The 271 is more comparable to a 242. Got an '06 292 with 100 hrs that I'm just getting ready to post for sale if you're in the market. $85k with an '08 triple axle aluminum Venture trailer.

Thanks, Pat

I've been real happy with the 292 overall. Good for a bay or partially protected water. Not as comfortable for big water but if you get stuck in it, the boat can deal with it. Goes 67 - 68 with a few people and full fuel in the summer heat. I know some poeple say they get 70+ from them but I've never seen it. It's a little stern heavy so it can be slow getting on plane and can porpise if you let it but once you get the right drive and tab combination figured out it's all good. Great boat for going out ripping around with my buddies, selling it to move up to an SS for more room and comfortable overnighting with the wife. You should be able to get and early 2000's 292 in your price range I'd think?

If you have a 272 now I wouldn't recommend dropping down to the 271. You'll miss the twins. There is a big difference in ride between the two. Your 272 is a more solid ride then the 292, you can get tossed around in the 271. I don't have the blue 377 motors, just 350s, but you can find some used ones out there for a decent price with 6.2's or 350's. I used the 350's as a negoiating factor, and from what I read it's not the much different of a ride between the 6.2's and 350's only a 40hp difference.
