419 owner opinion

I have a 357, and looking for bigger cabin for family needs... I've seen a 42 sonic cabin and that seems pretty good compared to my 357. never seen a 419 upclose...

so, 419 with steps, and 3 x 500 EFI:

how fast in the real world ?

can you stand up in cabin like a sonic?

what or where is the major difference in size of boat / cabin? height? lenght? or it's all for third engine space in engine compartment?

Any fuel consumption data at cruising speed compared to my 357?

Trip 500's..............phew!!!

That's the problem re-selling these. Everybody are scared about triples... but I'm pretty sure according to what I heard / read that there is not a big difference in fuel at cruising speed , if there are any...

to run similar boats in the 80 mph, I'd rather have 3 x bone stock reliable engines with regular drives than 2 modified 650-700 hp engine with expensive drive and nowhere to find parts easily...

I've got a 97 step hull 419 with triple 525 sc and bravo 1 drives. Boat runs 80 mph all day long full of fuel, faster is 84 mph in the winter with 1/2 fuel and two people on board. Love the 525 sc's, great motor, be careful with the cmi exhaust, puked a motor 2 years ago with a crack in the exhaust. 5'7" headroom in the cabin, I'm 6', can't stand up straight, but I've owned an 1986 357 and the 419 is a huge step up in my opinion. fiberglass enclosed head, vacuflush toilet with holding tank and pump-out, generator, hot water heater, etc. I also have the McCloud movable foot rests, let's you get really set in the seat for stand up driving. as far as gas goes, wide open your burning some fuel, curising at 43 mph, the engines only turn 3000 rpm and I thought I was getting around 1mph which is probably comparable to a trs 357. Besting riding boat in heavy ocean. Also, more room in cockpit and cabin, obviously bigger sunpad. I remember less bow rise with the 419 vs. the 357 also. I agree with you, would rather have 3 500 hp stock engines than 700 hp. I had 400 hours on the 525 sc's with absolutly no problems until the leaking header. If your looking for a fastec 419 cheap that needs a little work, let me know.

thanks for your input! you can send me details and or pictures. I'm more looking at 98 and over (white dash) and 98 and over also gives injected engines I think...

I'll post later what I received from formula customer support on 419 spec including fuel consumption compared to my 357...

97 419 502 mag 3000 40 mph 39 gal/hr 70 mph
97 419 500 80 mph no #
97 419 525 83 mph no #
2000 419 500efi 3000 37mph 54 gal/hr 82 mph

I'm surprised! according to those numbers, a 419 is almost twice as thursty as my 357 ???

maybe I'll have to back up!!!! feels like it is too much difference to be true...
