419 owner opinion
I have a 357, and looking for bigger cabin for family needs... I've seen a 42 sonic cabin and that seems pretty good compared to my 357. never seen a 419 upclose...
so, 419 with steps, and 3 x 500 EFI: how fast in the real world ? can you stand up in cabin like a sonic? what or where is the major difference in size of boat / cabin? height? lenght? or it's all for third engine space in engine compartment? Any fuel consumption data at cruising speed compared to my 357? |

That's the problem re-selling these. Everybody are scared about triples... but I'm pretty sure according to what I heard / read that there is not a big difference in fuel at cruising speed , if there are any... |
to run similar boats in the 80 mph, I'd rather have 3 x bone stock reliable engines with regular drives than 2 modified 650-700 hp engine with expensive drive and nowhere to find parts easily...

I've got a 97 step hull 419 with triple 525 sc and bravo 1 drives. Boat runs 80 mph all day long full of fuel, faster is 84 mph in the winter with 1/2 fuel and two people on board. Love the 525 sc's, great motor, be careful with the cmi exhaust, puked a motor 2 years ago with a crack in the exhaust. 5'7" headroom in the cabin, I'm 6', can't stand up straight, but I've owned an 1986 357 and the 419 is a huge step up in my opinion. fiberglass enclosed head, vacuflush toilet with holding tank and pump-out, generator, hot water heater, etc. I also have the McCloud movable foot rests, let's you get really set in the seat for stand up driving. as far as gas goes, wide open your burning some fuel, curising at 43 mph, the engines only turn 3000 rpm and I thought I was getting around 1mph which is probably comparable to a trs 357. Besting riding boat in heavy ocean. Also, more room in cockpit and cabin, obviously bigger sunpad. I remember less bow rise with the 419 vs. the 357 also. I agree with you, would rather have 3 500 hp stock engines than 700 hp. I had 400 hours on the 525 sc's with absolutly no problems until the leaking header. If your looking for a fastec 419 cheap that needs a little work, let me know.

thanks for your input! you can send me details and or pictures. I'm more looking at 98 and over (white dash) and 98 and over also gives injected engines I think...
I'll post later what I received from formula customer support on 419 spec including fuel consumption compared to my 357... |
I still would like to see a 419 with the tripps' removed and go back with big power (1200) staggered twins !!!! Come on" Jeff ...make us proud .......:drink:

jeff it depends on the power you are comparing it to, i have a couple of formula hand books if you have

I have this boat brokered a couple weeks ago. Has been on LOTO all it`s life in our marina. 1998 419 Fas-Tech with trip 525hp priced at..........$89,900.00! Sorry cannot take trade but the boat is a hard 8 on a 1 to 10 scale and has been WELL maintained. Want more photos give me a call......Capt. Steve 573216-4392...:cool-smiley-011:

I've seen it! seems like a nice boat. Good thing is nobody would notice I changed my boat since it's the same color scheme as mine. negative point is I promised myself next boat would be injected engines, this one is not, right?

If you can afford a 41 with triples what do care what the gas consumption is?
If ever I'm rich enough to throw money anywhere, good stuff! but for now, it is not the case! |
Wow, that 357 with 425s/TRS/21p gets right around 1mpg at every RPM/speed. That's pretty good.

hard earned money, as simple as that! I don't care about spending money on gas but if it is twice as much, It could always bring me back on earth and say to myself I'm still lucky to have a boat and run twins...
If ever I'm rich enough to throw money anywhere, good stuff! but for now, it is not the case! Power, noise, and speed is what its about with these stupid boats. TESTOSTRONE!!!! ARR, ARR. You want gas economy buy a tree huggin hippie boat. |
i have a 20 foot catamaran sail boat for the tough economic times... use it once in a while... but rather run the power boat!

Hey, there is nothing like starting 3 big blocks at the dock and the acceleration and power of the 419, it's just awesome!! I removed the silent thunder from mine, I want noise!!!

yes there are days when you get tired of three motors and maintence but when you need the power and weight of the boat you forget about everything else. I was in lake erie and left Put In Bay with six other boats all 35's and 38's none of them were in sight in less than 10 minutes. Thats what I love about mine. mark
