Stero speaker help needed

2000 - 382 with a kenwood factory stereo set up, I was running on Sat and when I arrived at my destination I went to turn on the stereo and only have sound in the front (cabin) speakers, totaly lost the sound in the cockpit speakers.

I did check the stereo setting for balance to rear & front that is not the issue. I am hoping some of you stereo experts can guide me in what to check or look for. I am thinking it has to be either a main wire from the stereo/amp that came off or can it be one of the amps that can go bad, there are two in the cabin below the sink.

check your electrical drawings in your manual you should i think have one amp for cabin and one for cockpit maybe you just had a wire come off

I do have two amps and was wondering if they worked independant for the front & rear speakers, unfortunately I cannot acces the wires in the rear of the amps without taking the counter top off or somehow disconnecting the amps to pull them out. This is going to be a bastard of a job....

sound like a dead amp (possibly a blown fuse). If one speaker were out, then you might be looking at wires from the amp. You can probably check the RCA cables from the head unit to the amp but both would have to be off to lose both channels

5PM nice graphics, if you ever get down the Hudson River look me up, we would blow peoples minds if we were running together. Also thanks for the help on the speakers.

Do you have the cockpit control knob on the Stbd side next to your bolster? I'd start there! If not, 5PM is on track with the RCA's and a blown fuse on the amp!

Well it's been a while since I started this post, but thought I would end it with the result. I pulled the amp and had a stereo guru check it, no power, so we sent it out for repair and I just re-installed it tonight and it works perfect again. Yeah.... I have music again :D
