What's it worth?

2000/353 Fastech w/500 EFIs, CMI Exhaust, Latham Steering, McLeod Interior with power seats and footrests.

Relatively clean boat, but the catch is the motors have 650 hours. Both motors are tired and need to be refreshed.

Question is: pay to have motors pulled and rebuilt @ 10-15K or sell the boat "as is" at an acceptable loss?

Any suggestions and what price this boat will bring with the motor issues in mind.

Thanks for your input.

I don't want to speculate what it will bring 'as-is'. Someone more in the 'know' can do that. However I don't feel you will make back what you would have to spend pulling and rebuilding those motors.....especially in this market.

Price it aggressively and let the new owner freshen them up.

I agree........Personally I would rather buy a boat cheap, knowing I need to re-fresh instead of take a chance paying more for a boat that I don't know how well (or bad) the re-fresh was done.
Value.....Probably less than you think. If the motors were in need of nothing it might list for $75K, hoping to get $65K. As is, I'd take $50K without hesitation.

FYI: I have a 2002 382 with <100 hour 540's (built 500EFI's)with every option available. Sits on a nearly new trailer, runs over 80 anyday and is in mint condition.....can't get a bite at $99K

I agree, price the boat aggressively and let the new owner determine how he wants to handle the re-fresh project. Keep in mind that a portion of your audience may be able to rig the engines themselves or do a portion of the work that may reduce their cost. I also agree that you must be realistic about what "aggressive" relates to in todays boat market. The market is really slow right now.

There's a '02 w 500s with only 200hrs near me that he can't give away for $69k.
