This is just GREAT!!!!

I get my first ride on a 382 fast tech today. Nort was kind enough to invite me out on his for the Catalina Brunch run. WELL needless to say that I will be wearing my Superboat shirt as I DO NOT have a Formula one. See Superboat has sent me free T-shirt, collared ones you name it :p :p :p Hows that sting Boilerdady :D:D Now go put some lotion on

Bill272 04-13-2002 12:25 PM

It's not what you wear, it's what you drive that matters. At least that's what I say when someone gives me grief aver wearing a Cigarette shirt on my Formula. No offense to Formula, but I just happen to like the Cig logo better, it's classic...

Why does Formula stuff cost more than everybody else's stuff. We bought a Sunsation towle for a friend for half the price of a Formula towel.

Jon, when you come say hi to me here in Decatur, you'll get your shirt!

Secret, some of our stuff may cost more, but it isn't because we mark it way up. It's more because not all towels are created equally, and my guess is that Sunsation towel is probably a wee bit thinner. I can't tell you our markup, but it's not much, and our Gear line isn't viewed as a moneymaker so much as a way to make our customers feel like they're part of our group and promote identity. No cheap stuff here!

Boilerdaddy and Jon,

I agree with Boilerdaddy, the Formula stuff is top notch, we have koolies, towels, shirts, jackets as well as a flag (for the bar room). Its all top quality just like the boats.

Think what I will get when I trade the 271 for a 353.:D

boilerdaddy 04-17-2002 12:45 PM

Boatinbill,

The day you buy the 353, I'll buy you a cheeseburger and a beer...as long as you show up here at the plant :D . I'll give you Audio's T-shirt, too.

boatinbill 04-17-2002 05:30 PM

Boilerdaddy,

I'll take you up on that, probably next year. The 271 will be 4 years old then, time to trade up.

Used to have the big boat in the group with a 21 footer. I got the 27 footer, then they all got 31 & 32 footers now, time to past them up with the 35 footer. Although I still have the fasted boat with a HP500EFI, the 31 footer is a '93 Aerotech with twin 454's and the 32 footer is a '01 Sunsation with twin small blocks.

What ever you have its always to small!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, Formula needs to get a dealer in the St. Louis or Kentucky Lake area. I bought my 271 in Chicago when I lived there but moved closer to the lake last fall and need a dealer close.:D

boilerdaddy 04-18-2002 10:27 AM

What's better for you: Lake Cumberland or Lake of the Ozarks?

boatinbill 04-18-2002 05:30 PM

Probably Lake of the Ozarks as we live in the St. Louis area now. (I met the guys from Glencove at the st. Louis boat show this year when I was trying on a 35 footer for size).

By the way when we bought the 271 we went to Decatur to see it being built, great factory, real care in the product. I have been to several factories, Celebrity in the late '80 when our 21 footer was being built, Eliminator and Hallet before I bought the 271, Formula impressed more than any other.

When we were there we were given the tour by Kerry Davis, real nice guy, great tour and was patient with us as we had our 3 and 7 year old boys with us. Keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

boilerdaddy 04-19-2002 11:45 AM

Yeah, Glencove is a good choice. They're a good dealer.

I know Kerry, as I worked beside him for quite a while (I was a regional service manager for 10 years). The reason he's so patient is that he's usually drunk all day when he's working.:D :D :D Just kiddin' of course. Maybe. (I know they monitor the board and I'm going to get ratted out.) Um, he's a real good guy.

Tours are a real interesting part of that job. When you get people who are excited and want to listen and learn, it's great. When you get some know-it-all who doesn't pay attention and interupts and ignores the tour guide, it really feels like a waste of time.

Come back up and see what's new with the addition to the plant!
