Trs are good strong drives but they are old technology and really hurt resale value as apposed to a bravo drive boat.
On the other hand you can buy a lot more boat with Trs but you may have a hard time selling it down the road. Keep in mind, the potential beating you take is when you buy, not when you sell. In other words, buy the right boat for the right price and you shouldn't lose a bunch of money when you decide to sell a few years from now. I have bought and sold 6 boats in the last 9 years and learned the hard way on the 1st one. |

TRS is superior to a Bravo, in 1988-1991.
that means a longer sunpad for your lady becuse the engines are mounted furthur forward. The TRS is easily (but not cheaply) converted to Konrads and will handle big power. The Bravos are cheaper/easier to service, not as reliable with power over ~525hp. And if you find a 272, it'll either be small block/Alpha or Big block/Bravo. |
CB don't even think about it, remember last time, Adrbear I'm interested possibly, what colors, and more info

A Kaama on the other hand....That KILLS the resale. I wouldnt even look at a boat with Kaama's.
I have a 1990 311 SR-1, original owner, every factory option offered, 420HP Performance Mercruisers, TRS drives, Factory Gill Exhaust. Less then 450 original hours, less then 20 hours since engines were rebuilt. I have had it in Storage for 4 years, Since I bought my new boat. It has no bottom paint and does not have the dated hockey stripping. I will be posting it as soon as I get my old lady off the title. I am in NY. |
