On the other hand you can buy a lot more boat with Trs but you may have a hard time selling it down the road.

Keep in mind, the potential beating you take is when you buy, not when you sell. In other words, buy the right boat for the right price and you shouldn't lose a bunch of money when you decide to sell a few years from now.

I have bought and sold 6 boats in the last 9 years and learned the hard way on the 1st one.

TRS is superior to a Bravo, in 1988-1991. The only way to get the Mercruiser factory HI-Performance engines, 370' or 420's in 1988-1991(Formula 311 SR1) was with TRS drives. And with the TRS drives you have transmissions, that means a longer sunpad for your lady becuse the engines are mounted furthur forward. And I have NEVER found that a TRS hurts resale.

Each drivetrain has its plusses and minuses. The only boat in that vintage where you can compare TRS vs Bravo is the 311. And the sunpad is the same regardless of drive.

The TRS is easily (but not cheaply) converted to Konrads and will handle big power. The Bravos are cheaper/easier to service, not as reliable with power over ~525hp. And if you find a 272, it'll either be small block/Alpha or Big block/Bravo.

I have a 1990 311 SR-1, original owner, every factory option offered, 420HP Performance Mercruisers, TRS drives, Factory Gill Exhaust. Less then 450 original hours, less then 20 hours since engines were rebuilt. I have had it in Storage for 4 years, Since I bought my new boat. It has no bottom paint and does not have the dated hockey stripping.
I will be posting it as soon as I get my old lady off the title. I am in NY.

:bsflag:Not to say you dont have a nice boat but to bash a so called hockey stripped /kaama boat which you havent even seen. Thats just not right/ Obviously you never tried to catch one of these hockey stripped/kaama boats with your TRS formula.
