Silent Thunder rebuilt...and so it begins!
Well originally I removed the silent thunder and was going to fab up an aluminum platform to replace it. It looks like finances will be tight this year so I'm throwing the silent thunder back on for the kids this summer. First thing I needed to do was pull out the rotted plywood. I got most of it out now, still going to have to do some trimming on the edges where the epoxy and old rotted wood are now permanent. I'm going to have to order new gaskets for the holes and outside of the box. I also need to order new internal flappers since those are long gone too. Lastly I'm going to have to do some serious buffing to try and bring the color back. The boat's paint is perfect but the box has faded quite a bit. If I can't bring it back I have a friend who's a painter who I can have paint it for cheap. Here's the before pics, hopefully in a few weeks I'll have it back to new and ready to reinstall for the summer.

I did the same thing to my 242, but I added stainless tubing for the exhaust and new tips. Keep up the good work.
